Long before moving to Hutto I worked as an activist for limited government. Immediately upon moving here in 2015, I immersed myself within the city. In my first year, I attended most of the city council meetings and the Saturday Council Chat sessions. I got to know the issues facing the city, some of the history, and the sitting City Council members. My involvement allowed me to be picked for Hutto Citizens University. In my second year, I missed only 6 council meetings all year, completed HCU, and continued to engage the sitting council members often. I also served on the Bond Selection Committee.
I served on the Planning and Zoning Commission and on the Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors. I have served as Chairman of the Board for the Hutto EDC / CDC since mid-2019 to present. In 2017, I ran for City Council, Place 1. During that election cycle, I never went negative or talked poorly about the other candidates. My campaign will be about my qualifications and ideas for the community and not about the other candidates.
I will be involved in shaping the future of Hutto because I get involved and I care. I'm one of those people who enjoy serving and the process of governance. In the last 5 years, I have demonstrated my commitment to this city, by doing - not just talking. I will continue to be involved whether or not I'm elected to City Council. I ask the voters to put me in a better position to shape conversations on the council, by putting me on the council.
